Fellowship Course in Epilepsy

1. Doctor of Medicine (MD), Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO), or equivalent medical degree.
2. Completion of the required prior Neurology residency training before beginning the fellowship.
3. Applicants must meet Cedars-Sinai Graduate Medical Education eligibility requirements. Graduates of international medical schools must have graduated from a school listed in the World Directory of Medical Schools (WDOMS) and have current Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (ECFMG) certification or the required unrestricted United States medical license.
4. Meet any additional specialty-specific requirements applicable to the Epilepsy Fellowship.
5. Be eligible for the required California medical licensing and clinical credentialing.
6. Demonstrated clinical or academic interest in epilepsy and seizure disorders.

The Epilepsy Fellowship at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center provides advanced subspecialty training in the diagnosis and management of epilepsy and seizure disorders. Fellows gain exposure to comprehensive epilepsy care, including electroencephalography (EEG), seizure evaluation, epilepsy monitoring, and multidisciplinary approaches to complex epilepsy cases. Training is supported by Cedars-Sinai’s specialized epilepsy services and collaboration among epileptologists, neurosurgeons, neuropsychologists, neuroradiologists, genetic specialists, and other clinical professionals. The program also provides opportunities for clinical research and academic activities related to epilepsy, including emerging approaches such as genetic testing, advanced seizure monitoring, and surgical treatment.

1. Complete the required medical degree and Neurology residency training.
2. Prepare the application documents, including curriculum vitae, personal statement, educational records, and recommendation letters as required by the program.
3. Submit the fellowship application through the application route specified by Cedars-Sinai.
4. The program reviews applicants based on their clinical training, academic background, and suitability for advanced epilepsy training.
5. Shortlisted applicants may be invited for an interview.
6. Selected candidates complete Cedars-Sinai credentialing, licensing, and Graduate Medical Education onboarding requirements before starting the fellowship.
