Overview

    Executive Program in Public Health Policy, Leadership & Management is a 6-month training program which is specially designed for mid-career and senior level (more than 5 yrs of work experience) working professionals who aspire to augment their leadership and management skills while still within their workplace. This program offers a unique opportunity for in service candidates to complete the course by participation in two weeks contact sessions and 22 weeks supervised online interactive sessions.

    Program Structure:

    • This course will include on-campus coursework and online modalities.
    • Teaching pedagogy will consist of didactic sessions, seminars, eld work, assignments and web-based teaching.
    • The programme is conducted in the dual mode — viz., it involves 2 week of contact classes and 22 weeks of web based learning including project work.
    • The contact classes will be held at campus of AIIMS Jodhpur. These weeklong contact classes will be scheduled at the beginning and at the end of the course.
    • Teaching and learning in the rest of the course will be carried out based on planned weekly and fortnightly readings and regular assignments, primarily through web-based medium under the supervision of the assigned faculty.
    • Overall, the course will be delivered through lectures, tutorials, presentations, guided reading, seminars, field work and research project.
    • The candidates are expected to complete 7 credits through online mode, 2 credits through contact session and 1 credit for academic project distributed over following 6 modules and academic project spread over six months. (One credit is equal to 30 hours of teaching)

    Modules:

    • Module-1: Introduction to health policy- 1.5 credits
    • Module-2: Health policy framework- 1.5 credits
    • Module-3: Stakeholder analysis and policy implementation- 1.5 credits
    • Module-4: Health program management- 1.5 credits
    • Module-5: Assessment and strategic planning- 1.0 credits
    • Module-6: Leadership in health policy and management- 2.0 credits
    • Academic Project- 1.0 credits

    The candidate will be assessed both formative as well as summative. Assessment include successful submission of assignments at the end of each module.

Eligibility

    Candidates fulfilling the following Educational Qualification criteria are eligible to apply for the course;

    • Medical: M.B.B.S. /BDS/ AYUSH (Alternative System of Medicine in India)
    • Non-Medical: Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Veterinary Sciences, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Engineering with minimum of 55% marks.
    • Any other graduate degree with minimum of 60% marks.
    • Other essential criteria: Minimum 5 years of work experience preferably experience of working in health care settings.
    • Should have No-Objection Certificate (NOC) from the employer/sponsoring organization.
    • After receipt of application, shortlisted candidates based on their Statement of Purpose, and Curriculum Vitae will be called for Personal/ Web based interview.
    • Based on the merit, candidates will be offered admission to the course.

Admission Process:

    Number of Seats:

    • Indian Nationals: 15 (Medical: 8, Non-Medical: 7).
    • Foreign Candidates: 05 (The application to be routed through Ministry of External Affairs.)
    • In case of non-availability of suitable candidates in one category, seats may be filled from another category.
