Overview

• A doctor of pharmacy is a professional doctorate degree in pharmacy. In some countries including the US, it is the first professional degree and a prerequisite for licensing to exercise the profession of pharmacist. The degree is designed to train the students with scientific and technical skills to be utilized for a one to one interaction with patients, ensuring rational drug therapy. Pharm. D emphasizes on the practice component of pharmacy like hospital & clinical pharmacy, community pharmacy and clinical research.
• On successful completion of the course, one can aspire to work as a clinical pharmacist or in pharmaceutical industries, clinical research organizations, community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, pharmacoeconomics and pharmacy education.

Eligibility

• A pass in 10+2/ H.Sc/ CBSE Examinations with Physics, Chemistry as compulsory subjects along with Biology or (Botany & Zoology) or Mathematics.
• Must have passed the Competitive Entrance Examinations conducted by the University.
