Overview
The Department of Pediatrics & Adolescent Medicine at AIIMS Rajkot is relatively new (set up in 2022) and handles general OPD services along with special clinics for Adolescent Endocrinology and Pediatric Diabetes. The vision of the department is to evolve into a comprehensive center for neonatal, pediatric, and adolescent patients, and to serve the Saurashtra region with high-quality health care, training and research. Over the three years of the MD Paediatrics programme, students will be exposed to clinical (inpatient and outpatient), diagnostic, growth & development, neonatal care, adolescent medicine, endocrine disorders, and public health pediatric aspects. Academic activities such as case discussions, seminars, specialty clinics and research are integral. Given AIIMS Rajkot's newer status, some subspecialty services are being developed (respiratory, neurology, behaviour, nephrology clinics etc.) and infrastructure is progressively growing.
