Overview
Orthopaedics at AIIMS Bilaspur is a three-year postgraduate surgical programme designed to train surgeons in both theory and hands-on operative and clinical skills relating to musculoskeletal health and diseases. Residents will rotate through trauma surgery, joint replacement, pediatric orthopaedics, sports injuries, spine care, etc., in the associated teaching hospital. Emphasis is on managing fractures, deformities, emergencies, preoperative and postoperative care, and rehabilitation. Given AIIMS Bilaspur’s status and recent growth, students get exposure to a variety of clinical cases and surgical load. Admission being via INI-CET ensures standardization; the competition is high due to relatively fewer seats and high demand.
