Overview
Al-Ameen Medical College (AMCH), established in 1984, is a private minority-run medical institution affiliated to RGUHS and recognized by NMC. The institution houses a multi-specialty teaching hospital and a broad clinical infrastructure, which provides a credible environment for postgraduate training. Forensics & Toxicology as a PG specialization aims to prepare physicians with expertise in medico-legal investigations, forensic pathology, toxicology analysis, and medico-legal case handling — essential for law-related medical work, legal medico-juridical support, forensic labs, and medico-legal reporting. During the 3-year tenure, students are expected to receive exposure to autopsies (where permitted), medico-legal casework, laboratory diagnostic procedures, histopathology, toxicology assays, clinical forensic evaluations, and reporting. The course may also involve exposure to legal documentation, court-related procedures, documentation of cause of death, injury analysis, and collaborative work with pathology, clinical medicine, and emergency departments, depending on hospital load and case volume. On completion, graduates are equipped to serve as forensic medicine specialists in hospitals, government forensic labs, medico-legal institutes, teaching hospitals, or private diagnostic/medico-legal centres — bridging medicine, law, and public health.
