DM Neurology

1. MD/DNB in General Medicine or Pediatrics from an NMC/NBEMS-recognized institution
2. Completion of prescribed postgraduate residency
3. Permanent registration with NMC or State Medical Council
4. Qualification in NEET-SS examination
5. Admission through KEA Super-Specialty Medical Counselling (for Karnataka seats)

The Department of Neurology at Father Muller Medical College offers comprehensive super-specialty training supported by a tertiary care teaching hospital. The department manages a wide spectrum of neurological disorders, including acute stroke care, epilepsy, neuromuscular diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and neuroinfections. DM residents receive extensive exposure to neuro-ICU care, electrophysiological studies such as EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies, as well as neuroimaging interpretation in collaboration with radiology. Structured academic activities include bedside teaching, seminars, journal clubs, case presentations, and interdisciplinary meetings. Emphasis is placed on evidence-based neurology, ethical practice, and research. The program prepares graduates for advanced clinical practice, academic careers, and leadership roles in neurology services.
