DM Cardiology

1. MD in General Medicine / Internal Medicine recognized by NMC
2. Completion of one-year compulsory internship during MBBS
3. Qualification in NEET-SS (Super Specialty Entrance) with required percentile
4. Eligibility as per NMC, KUHS, MCC / CEE Kerala, and Government of Kerala regulations
5. Willingness to comply with bond/service obligations, if applicable

Government Medical College, Kannur (Pariyaram) is a government tertiary care teaching hospital affiliated with Kerala University of Health Sciences and recognized by the National Medical Commission. The DM Cardiology programme provides super-specialty training in clinical cardiology, interventional cardiology, cardiac critical care, echocardiography, electrophysiology, and preventive cardiology. Residents gain exposure to a high volume of cardiac patients in outpatient clinics, inpatient wards, intensive care units, and catheterization laboratories. Academic activities include seminars, journal clubs, research methodology workshops, case discussions, and dissertation work. Graduates are trained to manage complex cardiac cases, perform interventions, and contribute to academic research.
