Diploma in Renal Dialysis Technology

The main objectives of this course are:

• To train students to work as dialysis technicians and assist nephrologists in their duties.
• To train Student to undertake hemodialysis treatment on patients with end stage and acute renal failure.
• To get understanding of various drugs used in anesthesia including their side effects, toxicity, doses of administration, proper administration and utilization.
• To train students to provide airway ventilation and cardio-pulmonary resuscitation when necessary.

Knowledge and Skills :

1. Knowledge of Anatomy & Pharmacology
2. Preparation of Dialysis Machine and Dialysis Circuit
3. Monitor all The Parameters in Machine (Temp, Conductivity, etc.)
4. Check /monitor Vitals of the Patients
5. Reprocessing of Dialyzer
6. Total Patient Care on Dialysis
7. Monitor and Manage Machine Alarms
8. Preparation of Chemicals
9. Vascular Access – Type, Care, Cannulation etc.
10. Knowledge of Principles and Practice of Peritoneal and Hemodialysis
11. Knowledge of Renal Diseases and Management
12. Take Patients' Medical Histories
13. Be a part of the Code Blue Team
14. Carry out Important Investigations and do Basic Interpretation of their Results
15. Patient Safety & Emergency Codes

Applicant should have passed 10+2 or equivalent with science specialization (Physics/Chemistry/Biology) having minimum 45% passing marks.
