1. Passed 10+2 / Higher Secondary Examination from a recognized board.
2. Preferably with Physics, Chemistry & Biology as subjects.
3. Minimum age of 17 years as of December 31 of the admission year.
4. Must appear and qualify the State Medical Faculty of West Bengal Entrance Examination (SMFWBEE) and be on the merit list for counseling. (Standard SMFWB diploma admission)

The Diploma in Optometry with Ophthalmic Technique (D.OPT) at Jalpaiguri Government Medical College and Hospital is a state-approved paramedical diploma designed to build skilled allied eye care professionals.
