Diploma in Optometry

Overview

Optometry is a healthcare profession which is concerned with the health of the eyes especially related to refractory errors and their corrections, using lenses and other optical aids. The course is designed to educate students about the different concepts of eye-health, diseases, diagnosis and treatment. The objective of the course is to produce trained ophthalmic professionals who can render eye care to more and more people who need it.During the optometry technician course the students are trained to inspect, detect and advise treatments for various ocular ailments. They also learn the skills of designing and manufacturing of spectacle lenses, contact lenses and low vision devices.

10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Maths / Biology with minimum 50% marks.
