The Government Paramedical Institute at Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College, Hazaribagh, started in the 2023-24 academic session with the requisite permission from the Jharkhand Paramedical Council. It offers a Diploma in OT Technician with 5 seats. Over the two-year course, students are trained in OT procedures, aseptic techniques, surgical protocols, and the handling of OT instruments. They also get practical exposure to operating theatres, helping them gain hands-on experience in a real hospital environment. Since the institute is part of a medical college, students may benefit from hospital labs, infrastructure, and supervision from surgical departments. The diploma equips graduates to work in hospitals, surgical centres, and clinics as OT technicians.

1. Register and apply through JCECEB (Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board) when paramedical counselling opens.
2. In the counselling portal, choose the course “OT Technician” under the Government Paramedical Institute, Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College.
3. Seat allotment is done on the basis of merit, category quotas, and availability of the 5 seats.
4. After allotment, report to the institute with documents like 10+2 mark sheet, ID proof, counselling allotment letter, etc.
5. Pay the course fee (as per the fee structure) and enrol for the two-year diploma.
