Diploma in Operation Theatre (OT) Technician

Applicant should have passed 10+2 with science PCB OR PCM with a minimum percentage of 55%.

The operating theatre (OT) technician is an integral person in the dynamic operating theatre team. Diploma in operation theatre technology is a two year diploma program designed to build a trained and qualified professional who will assist medical professionals in the operation theatre of hospitals, intensive care units as well as emergency departments.

The success of the procedures and safety of patients depends largely on the reliability of the OT technician. Diploma holders of this course will possess desired technical and interpersonal skills required to work under the supervision of nursing, anesthetists and surgical personnel.

• Students will understand the role and scope of the operation theatre technology in the healthcare setting with respect to preoperative and postoperative care of the patient.
• Students will develop skills necessary to identify the treatment procedures and requirements based on various surgeries or operating procedures.
• Students will be able to educate patients on strategies to prepare the patient coming for the operational procedures.
• Students will develop continuous professional and technical growth so as to become a professional and successful team leader.
• Students will be able to apply principles of safe practice in operation theatre technology.
• Student will be able to demonstrate skills in maintenance of complete operation theatre room.
