Overview

    The course is an in-service training programme. The student is provided with classroom teaching and supervised practical experience. Periodic internal examinations are conducted and the performance is evaluated at the end of each year of training with the final exam being conducted at the end of two year with six months of internship. Those students who fail to satisfy the evaluation committee may be detained for a period of six months. Like all hospital staff, students will be exposed to patients with communicable diseases and will be processing biological samples. The attendance of the candidates , mandatory to appear for the exam is 75% each year, failure of which the candidate will not be allowed to appear for the exam.

    • The course involves hands on training in: Cytopathology, Histopathology, Frozen Sections, Immunohistochemistry, Cytochemistry, Tumor Markers, Hematology, Biochemistry, Clinical Pathology, Microbiology, Serology , Blood Banking and Transfusion Service.

Eligibility

    • Applicants must have passed HSSLC ( Science) ( 10 + 2 ) or equivalent with physics, Chemistry and Biology with a minimum of 45% marks in case of General Candidates and 40% for OBC/MOBC, SC, ST(P) and ST(H) candidates. 
    • Students have to be in the age limit of 17-25 years. Upper age is relaxable by 3 years for OBC/ MOBC, SC, ST (P) and ST(H) candidates. Age relaxation is applicable for the DIBYANG candidates as per existing norms of the Government of Assam. 
    • The candidate must be fluent in English, as the medium of instruction is English.

Admission Process:

    • There are total 10 seats available every year for the DMLT course. The selection process will be based on interview or separate entrance test depending on the number of candidates. The decision of the selection committee will be considered final based on the performance of the candidates.
    • Application Process include hard copy submission of duly filled application form, curriculum vitae, academic documents and ID proof.
