Overview

    The course duration will be 3 years Plus 3 months internship for S.S.L.C / X std students or 2 years Plus 3 months internship for II PUC (science) / XII students.

    Diploma in The Medical Lab Technician (DMLT) course at Aryabhata Paramedical College prepares students for rewarding in-demand career opportunities. The course deals with prognosis, diagnosis, and follow-up through the use of clinical laboratory tests. This professionally woven and well-integrated course provides an exhaustive learning experience and aims towards a basic understanding of varied aspects of lab and diagnostic techniques.

    During the medical laboratory technician course, students learn different test procedures to diagnose and detect diseases, ultimately paving way for the doctors to treat their patients. In addition to it, the curriculum deals with collection of patient information, sampling, reporting, testing and documentation. Students learn about Hematology, Cytopathology, Histopathology, Immuno his to chemistry, Molecular Pathology, Biochemistry etc. and receive hands-on training to work as a full-fledged lab technologists at our constituent hospital.

    The lab technician course covers elements of blood bank management, materials management, supply chain management as well as lab information system management. We ensure compliance to quality control standards as per the regulations of NABL and students are also taught how to clean and maintain the lab equipment along with proper management of biomedical waste.

    To educate and train students about sample collection techniques for routine and specialized tests, and thereafter conduct the required diagnostic tests, followed with an analysis of the outcome.

    Course aims to inculcate the required skills and knowledge during the course study:

    • Comprehension of Medical Terminology
    • Laboratory Procedures (theory and applied learning components)and quality control
    • Pathology Lab Orientation with requisite knowledge of laboratory equipment

Eligibility

    The candidate must have passed SSLC and 10+2 PUC (physics, chemistry and biology/maths) from any recognized board with English as one of the subjects and with a minimum of 50% marks.
