Overview

A diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology, popularly known as DMLT enables easy entry into the healthcare field, in spite of different streams of commerce and arts. Medical lab technicians play an essential role in medical laboratory operations. Their tasks include taking care of instruments, gathering data, maintaining records, preparing and conducting chemical and biological analyses as directed by a supervisor, and assisting in all lab procedures (e.g., sample-taking, analyzing the outcomes of experiments). They may choose to specialize in an area of expertise such as chemistry, cytotechnology, immunology, microbiology, molecular biology, immunohematology, and clinical research.
