Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology (DMIT)

• Candidates for this 3 year program leading to the Diploma in Medical Imaging should have passed SSLC and 2-year pre university examination (10+2) with English as one of the subject along with physics, chemistry, biology / maths as subject.
• They should have passed any other examination recognized as equivalent to 2-year Pre University selected on merit in their performance entrance test interview held by the college. Students undergo a period of certified study over 3 academic year from the date of commencement of classes for subjects according to the prescribed curriculum till completion of the examination following by 1 year compulsory internship. English shall be the medium of instruction for all subject examinations.

The course duration will be 3 years Plus 3 months internship for S.S.L.C / X std. students or 2 years Plus 3 months internship for II PUC (science) / XII students.

Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology is a 2 year academic programme that will provide students with a broad knowledge in biophysical and health sciences to enable them to acquire practical lessons in handling radio imaging equipment and procedures. The course covers the essentials of theoretical studies and clinical practice needed to become a Radiology technician capable to perform diagnostic imaging examinations such as X-Rays, CT scan, MRI scan on patients. After completing the course, students will have a wide scope of jobs in private and Government hospitals, private clinics, radiology lab. Diploma in Medical Imaging Technology is a twelfth level Diploma Medical Lab course. Medical Imaging Technology is a process of creating visual images of the interior of a body for clinical analysis and medical purposes of recognizes diseases. The course provides students with a broad knowledge in biophysical and health sciences to enable them to acquire theory and practical know-how in handling radio imaging equipment and procedures. The course contains the essential theoretical studies and clinical practice needed to become a qualified Diagnostic Radiographer. After passing the course candidates have a wide scope of jobs both in private and government hospitals.
