Diploma in Dialysis Technology (DDT)

In order to be eligible for a diploma course student should have completed class 12th in the science stream or be a graduate in any other stream. Must be 17 years old at the time of joining the course.

The course trains students to become skilled dialysis technicians, capable of handling haemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis on both Fresinius and 8 Braun dialysis machines. The course also includes training on the preparation of dialysis fluids, as well as the washing and storage of dialyzers for reuse. Our training includes running safety checks for the machine settings, particularly the pressures,

conductivity, and temperature.

The course curriculum covers the following topics:

>> Basic Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology, Basic & Clinical Biochemistry.

>>Basic & Systemic Microbiology.

>> General Pharmacology, Renal Anatomy, Physiology & Renal Nutrition.

>> Common Kidney Disorders, Diagnosis of Kidney Disease.

>> Management of Kidney Disease.

>> Predialysis Preparation and Assessment.

>> Peritoneal Dialysis & Haemodialysis.

>> Vascular Access.

>> Heparin Therapy.

>> Complications Arising from Haemodialysis.

>> Haemodialysis Prescriptions.

>> Water Treatment Methods

• The admission process at the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in New Delhi and Mohali is as follows: Complete the form and take the entrance test as per the course of your choice. The entrance test is based on a standard school science syllabus and does not require any specialized studying beyond revision of basic science concepts. Candidates who clear the entrance test will have a personal interview with a senior member of the faculty. Admission is confirmed only upon receiving valid documents and receipt of the first instalment of fees.
