Diploma in Cardiac Technician

In order to be eligible for a diploma course student should have completed class 12th in the science stream or be a graduate in any other stream. Must be 17 years old at the time of joining the course.

The Cardiac Technology has been designed to bridge the gap in critical care practice and develop technicians skilled in the management of critical life-supporting equipment with a focus on the care of seriously ill patients. The course has been designed to train students to conduct ECG and other highly technical cardiology diagnostic equipment including cathlabs, handle complex ICU equipment like ventilators, defibrillators, pacemaker implants etc.

The course curriculum covers the following topics:

>> Introduction to Cardiac Care Technology.

>>Hospital Organisation and Functioning.

>> Basic Anatomy and Physiology.

>> Basic Pharmacology related to Cardiac and Critical Care.

>> Electrocardiography - ECG.

>> Echocardiography & Treadmill Test.

>> Introduction to Cath Lab Procedures and pacemakers.

>> Grinding and making of Spectacles.

>> Introduction to Critical Care.

>> Types of Critical Care Units and Departments.

>> Ventilators and Ventilatory Support.

>> Care and Monitoring of Unconscious and Critical patients.

>> Infection Control Practices.

>> Biomedical Waste Management.

The admission process at the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in New Delhi and Mohali is as follows:

• Complete the form and take the entrance test as per the course of your choice. The entrance test is based on a standard school science syllabus and does not require any specialized studying beyond revision of basic science concepts. Candidates who clear the entrance test will have a personal interview with a senior member of the faculty. Admission is confirmed only upon receiving valid documents and receipt of the first instalment of fees.
