Overview

The PG Diploma in Orthopaedics at RIMS Ranchi is a two-year superordinate clinical training program in the Department of Orthopaedics. RIMS’s Orthopaedics department is well-established, offering services in trauma, spine, pediatric orthopaedics, daily OPD, and surgical units. Students in this diploma are exposed to a wide range of musculoskeletal cases — including fractures, joint injuries, degenerative disorders, and congenital deformities. Under the supervision of experienced faculty, they learn both conservative (non-surgical) management and operative procedures, gaining hands-on experience in orthopaedic surgeries. The department has dedicated wards, OPDs, and facilities for trauma care, along with physiotherapy support within the same building. This diploma is especially valuable for doctors who aspire to work in general hospitals, rural set-ups, or community health centers, where full orthopaedic specialization (MS) may not be feasible. The low tuition fee (₹ 13,000 for 2 years) makes this program very accessible.
