Overview
The Dermatology Residency Program at UMass Chan Medical School provides comprehensive training in medical, surgical and pediatric dermatology. Residents gain clinical experience in general dermatology, dermatologic surgery, dermatopathology, pediatric dermatology, inpatient consultation and specialized dermatology clinics. Training also includes exposure to cosmetic procedures, lasers, skin cancer, complex medical dermatology and multidisciplinary patient care, along with opportunities for research and academic development.

Eligibility
- Medical degree: Graduate of a U.S./Canadian LCME- or AOA-accredited medical school, or an international medical school with a valid ECFMG Certificate before appointment
- USMLE/COMLEX: Passing USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 CK, or equivalent examinations, is required
- IMGs: Must hold valid ECFMG certification and meet Massachusetts medical licensure requirements
- PGY-3 or higher: Applicants entering at PGY-3 or above must have passed USMLE Step 3 before appointment
- Applicants must satisfy UMass Chan's GME credentialing, employee health and technical standards requirements

Admission Process:
- Register and apply through ERAS for programs participating in ERAS
- Submit the required application materials, including academic records, examination scores, CV, personal statement and recommendation letters as required by the program
- The Dermatology Residency Program reviews applications and selects qualified applicants for interviews
- Applicants participate in the applicable NRMP Match if the program participates in NRMP
- Candidates who match must complete UMass Chan's GME credentialing, Massachusetts licensure and employee-health requirements before appointment
