This new medical college has been aptly named after Shri Dattaji Meghe, a philanthropist and a social worker who has done pioneer work in the field of education in Maharashtra. Smt. Shalinitai Meghe Hospital & Research Centre is a four hundred fifty bedded hospital attached to this medical college. The hospital is fully furnished and has all modern amenities to extend health care. The hostels are provided with facilities for physical development like playgrounds, swimming pools, and Gymnasium.
