Combined Residency in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics

• Applicants interested in the Combined Pediatrics and Medical Genetics Residency must apply through the Electronic Residency Application Service (ERAS)
• Applicants must have completed or be completing medical school training required for residency entry
• Candidates should demonstrate strong interest in Pediatrics, Genetics, Genomics, and inherited disorders

• International Medical Graduates (IMGs) must fulfill applicable ECFMG certification and U.S. residency eligibility requirements
• Selected candidates are invited for interviews with faculty members from both Pediatrics and Medical Genetics programs

The Combined Residency in Pediatrics and Medical Genetics at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine (JHUSOM), Baltimore is an ACGME-accredited integrated residency program that provides specialized training in both Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics. The program prepares physicians to diagnose, manage, and counsel patients with genetic disorders, inherited conditions, metabolic diseases, and complex pediatric illnesses. Residents receive comprehensive clinical training at The Johns Hopkins Hospital and affiliated sites, with exposure to pediatric care, genomic medicine, genetic evaluation, laboratory interpretation, research activities, and multidisciplinary patient management. The curriculum fulfills the requirements of the American Board of Pediatrics (ABP) and the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG), enabling graduates to become eligible for board certification in both Pediatrics and Clinical Genetics after completion of the program.
