-
The CRNA Pediatric Anesthesia (LCAAP) Fellowship at Lurie Children’s Hospital is a 12-month clinical fellowship tailored to CRNAs who seek specialized expertise in pediatric anesthesia. Fellows are immersed in structured clinical training to gain advanced competency in comprehensive pediatric anesthetic techniques, covering a broad spectrum of cases including neonates, infants, and children with complex surgical needs. Mentorship is provided by experienced CRNAs with monthly evaluations to support clinical excellence and professional growth. Fellows complete minimum case experience requirements such as neonatal cases, advanced airway procedures, emergency cases, and pediatric anesthesia with high ASA classifications. A modular didactic curriculum supplements clinical training with readings, lectures, and multidisciplinary shadowing experiences. The fellowship also encourages engagement in quality improvement projects and academic activities, including presentations or research mentorship, fostering both clinical skill and scholarly development.
