Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)

Overview

AOP’s COC course trains candidates to accurately code diagnostic, procedural, and supply encounters in outpatient settings using CPT®, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II. Students learn to navigate payment systems (OPPS/APCs), compliance standards (HIPAA, bundling, denials), and coding rules via real record practice and mentor-led instruction. The program prepares participants for the AAPC COC certification exam with strong job-readiness support 

Eligibility

• Requires basic computer skills, medical terminology & anatomy knowledge; open to healthcare backgrounds and new entrants in coding
