Certificate in General Duty Assistance (CGDA)

In order to be eligible for course student should have completed class 8th. Must be 18 years old at the time of joining the course.

This course trains students to work as nursing aides in hospitals and home care scenarios and they can also provide basic nursing care. They are taught to support nurses and also directly handle ill patients who are unable to look after themselves in both hospital and home care settings.

The course curriculum covers the following topics:

>>General Health & Hygiene.

>>Understanding Hospitals & the Healthcare System.

>> Special Skin Care for Radiotherapy, Pressure Sores.

>>Caring for the Visually Impaired.

>>Role of a Patient Care Assistant.

>>Daily Care for a Patient.

>>Administering Drugs as per Prescriptions.

>>Basic Nursing Skills.

>>Disposal of Medical Waste.

>>Understanding Body Mechanics.

>>Patient Handling, Lifting, and Moving Patients.

>>Fall Prevention Care and Restraints.

>>Emergency First Aid and CPR.

The admission process at the Tech Mahindra SMART Academy for Healthcare in New Delhi and Mohali is as follows:

• Complete the form and take the entrance test as per the course of your choice. The entrance test is based on a standard school science syllabus and does not require any specialized studying beyond revision of basic science concepts. Candidates who clear the entrance test will have a personal interview with a senior member of the faculty. Admission is confirmed only upon receiving valid documents and receipt of the first instalment of fees.
