Certificate Course in Operation Theatre Technician

Overview

An Operating Theatre Technician provides technical services in the operating theatre and support patients in the recovery room. He/she maintains responsibility for the transportation of patients to and from the theatre and wards and assist in proper patient positioning for various procedures. He/she prepares operation table, dressing trolley, anaesthesia equipment and surgical instruments like cautery machine, suction apparatus, defibrillator, operation theatre lights, head lights, drills, fluoroscopy and USG machine etc. in safe, clean and ready to use condition. Technician assists with patient procedures as required. Also helps in preparation of various drugs and helps anaesthesiologist for induction, intubation and positioning. Technician has pivotal role in smooth, safe and effective functioning of the operation theatre. Applicants must spend 6 months in their internship.

Eligibility

Applicants must have passed the 12th standard in Science stream.
