Cardiac Catherterization Laboratory Nurse Certificate Course

The course will also focus on providing care to patients in ICU, CCU or Cardiac Catheterization Lab; executing needs assessment, organizing patients for medical procedures, monitoring patient's vital signs, operating treatment equipment's, administering Intravenous therapy (IV) and various tasks to be performed in the Cath-lab. As this field is continuously evolving, it is essential to keep updated on the latest technologies

On successful completion of the course, the student will be competent to:

• Apply evidence based medicine and current guidelines to meet individual patient needs and characteristics.
• Be able to understand and explain the medical procedure or surgical treatment the patient will receive, to patient and relatives.
• Acquire the theoretical knowledge and practical skills to assist in all procedures in the cath lab.
• Assist in pre-procedural, peri-procedural and post procedural patient care and management.
• Identify the optimal strategy to assist in managing procedural related complications.

Applicants must have completed B.Sc Nursing or GNM course.
