Overview
- BGS Vijnatham Institute of Nursing Sciences (VINS) is part of the BGS Medical College & Hospital campus in Nagarur, Bengaluru, under the umbrella of BGS’s broader educational-hospital trust. The B.Sc. Nursing programme is a four-year full-time course designed to produce professionally competent, ethically grounded nursing graduates prepared for hospital, community, and clinical settings.
- Through a semester-based curriculum, the course combines foundational sciences, core nursing subjects, practical clinical exposure, and optional electives/modules (under a choice-based credit system for electives) to ensure a holistic nursing education. The institute claims to have attachment with a multi-specialty hospital (with substantial bed capacity and clinical departments) — enabling students to gain hands-on clinical training, patient care experience, and exposure to diverse medical situations.
- The student support infrastructure includes experienced faculty, well-equipped labs, skill/simulation facilities (as per allied-health wing description), and campus amenities including hostel, cafeteria, library & labs. On successful completion, graduates are expected to be eligible for roles such as staff nurse, community/public-health nurse, midwifery, critical care nursing, and other patient-care/health-service roles.
