Overview

    The B.Sc. (Bachelor of Science) in Nursing is a four year professional degree course recognised by the Indian Nursing Council (INC) and the West Bengal Nursing Council and is affiliated to West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS).
    On successful completion, the student shall be awarded with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree by WBUHS and a Registration certificate by WBNC respectively, which entitles them to work as Registered Nurse and Midwife (RNRM). Facilities are provided to students for clinical experiences under the guidance of faculty in various clinical and community settings. The university exams are held semester wise.
    Aims
    The aim of the undergraduate Nursing program is to:

    • Prepare graduates to assume responsibilities as professional, qualified nurse and midwives who provide promotive, preventive, curative and rehabilitative services.
    • Prepare students to become nurses who can make independent decisions in nursing situations, function in hospital settings, and provide community nursing services and conduct research studies in the areas of nursing practice.

Eligibility

    • Only Female candidates are eligible for admission in B.Sc. Nursing course.
    • The applicant’s age must be at least 17 (seventeen) years.
    • The candidate must pass (10+2) examination from any recognized Board/Council
    • Candidate must pass the subjects  (Physics Chemistry Biology ) with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical separately, wherever applicable)
    • Minimum aggregate considering above subjects taken together for 45% in  General and EWS and 40% for SC/ST/OBC-A/OBC-B/ PwD.
    • Candidate must pass in English in (10+2) system.
    • All candidates must be medically fit for the course and produce a Medical Fitness Certificate at the time of admission.
    • The applicant must be a citizen of India. Must be domicile of West Bengal.
    • The candidate must be domiciled in West Bengal for admission in any category of seat in course
    • Only those candidates will be treated as domicile of West Bengal who are either,
      • Residing in West Bengal continuously at least for last 10 (ten) years as on 31st December OR
      • Whose parent(s) is/are permanent resident(s) of West Bengal having permanent address within the State of West Bengal.
    • All documents will be verify the during the admission counselling
    • If any of the certificates is then found to be invalid /expired, the candidate will lose the opportunity of admission.
