Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing)

• The candidate should have completed the age of 17 years at the time of admission or will complete this age on 31st December of the year of admission.
• The candidate should have completed the two years intermediate/ H.Sc or equivalent course thereof, with science subjects, viz. English, Physics, Chemistry and Biology from a recognized Indian University or Pre- University.
• The candidate should have secured not less than 60% of marks on the aggregate of the above subjects in the qualifying or competitive examination conducted on similar lines as the qualifying examination conducted by a competitive body.
• The candidate should be medically fit.

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or B.Sc Nursing is a 4 year professional course which is affiliated by Indian Nursing Council and Tamilnadu Nurses and Midwives Council. There are mainly two Bachelor programs in nursing available namely Basic B.Sc(N) (4 years) and Post Basic B.Sc(N) (2 years). Nursing science is a field of knowledge based on contributions of nursing scientists through peer reviewed scholarly journals and evidence based practice. This course focuses on the care of individual, families and communities so they may attain, maintain or recover optimal health and quality of life from conception to death. During the course period prepare the students to equip themselves to be as clinical nurse specialist, counsellor, educator and researcher. The profession is ever demanding and there is a vast opening for the Nursing Graduate worldwide.
