Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing)

• 10+2 class passed or its equivalent preferable with science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English) subjects with aggregate of 40% marks.
• The age of the candidates should be between 17-35 years (as on 31st December of the admission year). However a relaxation of 5 years in the upper age limit shall be available for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
• The candidate should be medically fit to the satisfaction of the institution.

A 4-year degree program offered at Murari Lal Memorial School & College of Nursing, affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University & approved by Indian Nursing Council that prepares the student to practice across all health care settings. The course of study combines the theory and the practice of nursing, with general education in the humanities and behavioral, biological, and physical sciences. For these courses online applications are invited through Himachal Pradesh University around Mid Year (June-July) every year according to the eligibility criteria as laid by Indian Nursing Council and entrance test is conducted.

Documents are required at the time of admission :

• A certificate of having passed the matriculation examination (showing the date of birth)
• A copy of certificate of having passed 10+2 examination.
• 3 copies of passport size recent photograph
• Bonafide certificate of being a Himachali candidate
• A certificate of good character from the Principal of the educational institution last attended.
• Medical certificate proving the medical fitness of the candidate.
• An affidavit from the parent mentioning that their daughter will not indulge in any type of ragging or indiscipline in the campus/Hostel & outside
• An affidavit from the parent mentioning that their daughter will not misuse the mobile phone
• Authority form, address, contact number and photos of visitors must be signed / attested by parents.

Management quota seats:
There is no bonafide condition for the candidates applying for management quota seats. Under this quota, both himachali & non himachali interested female candidates can be admitted subject to fulfilment of minimum educational qualification, age etc. The admission will be made in order of merit.

State quota seats:
Female children of bonafide Himachali/ Himachal Govt. Employees & employees of autonomous bodies wholly or partially funded by the HP govt. Admission of married candidates is allowed subject to the condition that they should produce medical fitness certificate & submit an undertaking that they shall not conceive during the entire training period.

Counselling & admission procedure by University:

• The counselling for B.Sc. Nursing and Post Basic Nursing will be held at Himachal Pradesh University, Summer Hill & for GNM will be held at IGMC Shimla, on as per the time schedule fixed for the purpose. The allotment of available seats to the eligible candidates will be made in order of merit list drawn category wise as well as quota wise on the date of Counselling. All the qualifying candidates or their authorized representatives will have to bring their original documents/ certificates at the time of Counselling. No separate communication will be issued to the candidates for attending the counselling. The candidates not reporting for Counselling as per schedule will forfeit their claim for admission without any further notice. The selected candidates will be required to join as per dates fixed up, failing which their candidature will be cancelled. NOTE:- The candidate(s) who brings incomplete original certificates/documents at the time of Counselling will be rejected without any notice there and then by the Counselling Committee. The candidate(s) found ineligible at any stage shall have no claim for admission or continuation to the nursing course even if she qualifies in the Entrance test.
• Category-wise candidates will be invited for Counselling strictly in order of merit in the respective merit list based on the marks obtained by them in the Entrance test/10+2. All the candidates who obtained the minimum qualifying marks will be called for Counselling.
• The final eligibility of the candidate will be determined by the Counselling committee after verification of the original documents. In case of unavoidable reasons, the candidate who are not able to appear in person, they may depute an authorized person to convey her interest with a letter of authority along with all required documents failing which the merit of the candidate will be cancelled. The committee will also prepare a waiting list and as soon as vacancy arises next candidate from the waiting list will be allotted seat(s) in the College concerned.
• The selected candidates will be required to deposit the prescribed fee within prescribed date after Counselling, failing which the seat will be allotted to the next candidate on merit. Necessary instructions will be given/ issued by the Principal.
