Overview

The B.Sc. Medical Record Technology degree trains students in the systematic management of health information in clinical settings. The curriculum covers modules like medical terminology, health data management systems, disease classification (ICD coding), medical auditing, health informatics, legal and ethical aspects of health records, data analysis, medical transcription, and electronic health records (EHR). Students learn to manage patient data accurately, ensure compliance with privacy norms, and provide critical support in clinical decision‑making and hospital administration. Graduates are prepared for roles such as Health Information Technician, Medical Coder, Medical Records Officer, Health Data Analyst, and HIM professionals in hospitals, clinics, insurance firms, and research institutions. 

Eligibility

10+2 with PCB or PCM

Minimum 50 % aggregate marks

Admission based on merit and/or JNU Paramedical Entrance Exam (JNUEE) plus personal interview/document verification depending on year.
