Overview

    1. The Bachelor of Science (Health) at the University of Sydney is designed to give students a solid grounding in the science of health and the functioning of health systems — including the sociocultural, behavioural, economic and environmental determinants of health.
    2. Students may choose a major in “Health” (the major is available in this degree) while also selecting a second major or minor from a wide range of science disciplines, enabling flexibility and interdisciplinary study.
    3. The curriculum emphasises critical thinking, communication, and understanding of health in global and local contexts, preparing graduates for roles in health policy, health promotion, management, advocacy, research, information systems, and non-clinical health sectors.
    4. The degree does not guarantee clinical-practice professional accreditation (such as for physiotherapy, occupational therapy, or nursing) but serves as a broad health science foundation with flexibility to later specialise or enter postgraduate professional programmes.
    5. For international students, there is intake in February (Semester 1) and sometimes August (Semester 2), depending on the stream.
