Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Renal Dialysis Technology

Overview

Government Medical College, Anantnag offers B.Sc Renal Dialysis Technology as one of its paramedical degree programs. The intake capacity is 20 seats per year.  This course is under the regulation of the Jammu & Kashmir Paramedical Council and is affiliated with the University of Kashmir. The curriculum is designed to cover both theoretical knowledge—renal anatomy, physiology, pathology, principles of dialysis—and practical/hands‑on training in dialysis treatment modalities. Students learn to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot dialysis machines, assist in patient monitoring, ensure safety and hygiene in renal units, and handle related biomedical equipment. The program spans approx. four academic years (including internships/clinical training) to ensure students are well‑prepared for professional roles. Graduates can find employment in hospitals, kidney care centres, diagnostic labs, dialysis clinics, and similar settings.

Eligibility

• Must have passed Higher Secondary / 10+2 from a recognized board with Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English. 
• Minimum aggregate marks (often ~ 45% in PCB + English) for general category; relaxed for reserved categories.
• Must be medically fit.
• Age: often need to be 17 years or older by 31st December of the year of admission in many colleges. (Though specific age details for GMC Anantnag not found).
