Overview

The B.Sc OT programme at GMC Doda (or equivalent institution) aims to equip students with the technical, clinical and management skills required in an operation theatre setting. The curriculum covers anatomy, physiology, surgical procedures, OT instrumentation, sterilisation techniques, patient care (pre, intra & post-operative), emergency handling and infection control. Practical training in actual hospital OT units and allied departments is integrated to build hands-on competence. Graduates are prepared to work as OT technologists/assistants in hospitals, trauma centres, surgical centres and other healthcare environments, contributing to efficient surgical services and patient safety. The role is increasingly important as healthcare infrastructure grows, particularly in tertiary care and surgical services.
