Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Perfusion Technology

• Candidates need to have qualified two year Pre-University (10+2) examination with PASS percentage and studied Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English as principle subjects from a recognized educational Board.
• The vocational higher secondary education course conducted by vocational higher secondary education, Govt. of Kerala with five subjects including Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in addition to vocational subjects conducted is considered equivalent to plus TWO examinations of Govt. of Karnataka Pre University Course.
• Eligibility for admission is as per RGUHS norms as amended from time to time.

Perfusion technologists are trained to run machinery that assists or replaces a patient’s own respiratory or circulatory system during medical procedures. He is trained in such a way that he is capable of being a member of open heart surgical team. He will be responsible for setting up of heart lung machine, its maintenance, monitoring circulatory process and taking appropriate corrective measures when required. He is also trained to maintain sophisticated equipment’s in addition to performing certain blood tests.
