Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Optometry

Candidate should have passed 10+2 levels with 50% marks in subjects of physics, chemistry, biology and math.

It is a three-year graduate course that provides education and training on everything related to the eye. The course will teach you the fundamentals of eye health, starting from the basics, and give detailed knowledge about all the machinery and devices used in optometry.

Scope :

After completing BSc Optometry course, the graduates can join industries like Contact lens & ophthalmic lens industry, eye clinics, health consultancies, lens manufacturing units, optician showrooms, multinational companies dealing with eye care products, etc. They are often offered jobs like Optometrist, Optician, Sales Executive, Teacher, Eye Doctor, etc. Successful graduates candidates of the course enquiring in pursuing higher studies in the discipline may go for higher courses such as M.Sc., PhD and many other research-related studies in vision care science.

A B.Sc. Optometry graduate can work in clinics, hospitals, universities, colleges, eye clinics, eye-care centers, multinational companies offering eye care, optic care showrooms, etc. Some options are Junior Optometrist, Optician, Own optical clinic, Sales executive in optical shop/showrooms.
