Embryology is the science and subfield of Assisted reproductive technology (ART) that deals with the development and growth of an individual before birth. It begins with the fertilization of an oocyte (ovum) by a sperm and culminates with the birth of the baby. Clinical Embryology is a stream of biology that mainly focuses on the study of egg fertilization and the healthy development of embryos. An embryologist focuses on the creation of embryos outside the mother's womb (Embryology Laboratory) with the help of sperm and eggs.
