Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT)

Overview

• The Bachelor of Physiotherapy (BPT) degree is an undergraduate program that focuses on the study and application of physical therapy and rehabilitation.
• The curriculum covers a broad range of subjects related to medical sciences and physiotherapy. Common subjects include anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pathology, pharmacology, biomechanics, exercise therapy, electrotherapy, and rehabilitation.
• Graduates of BPT programs can pursue diverse career paths. They may work as hospital-based physiotherapists, sports physiotherapists, rehabilitation specialists, or community health practitioners. Some may choose to establish their private practices.
• The BPT degree equips individuals with the knowledge and skills to contribute to the healthcare sector by promoting mobility, preventing disability, and enhancing the overall well-being of patients through physical therapy interventions.

Eligibility

• Candidate should have passed the Higher Secondary (10+2) or equivalent examination recognized by any Indian University or a duly constituted Board with English as one of the subjects and should have scored a minimum of 45 % marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology). In respect of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes & Scheduled Tribes, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, Biology (Botany & Zoology) together in the qualifying examination should not be less than 40%.
• Candidates who have studied abroad and have passed the equivalent qualification with English as one of the languages and 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology) will be evaluated for admission by Shri Dharmasthala Manjunatheshwara University.
