Candidates should have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+ 2) with Physics, Chemistry & Biology.
This course is of four & half years duration. It includes Theoretical classes as stipulated by the University & practical classes are held in Physiotherapy section of the Department of Physical Medicine and other various departments of the Hospital. After successful completion of the course, six months’ internship is mandatory.
Objective of the Course:
a. The objective of the Physiotherapy course, which is complementary to neurology, orthopedics, respiratory medicine and to help the student to be familiar with a wide range of ailments.
b. To acquire adequate knowledge of basic medical sciences and to develop skills and techniques of therapeutic exercises (including use of various types of equipment's) and physiotherapeutic management & to figure out for themselves the course of treatment for various medical and surgical conditions of patients.
c. To acquire skills in management, research, teaching as well as to guide patients by counselling them.
d. To acquire proper attitude for compassion and concern for patients and welfare of physically challenged in the community.
e. To inculcate moral and ethical values with regard to their profession.
Selection of the candidates shall be from the merit list through West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (J.E.N.P.A.R.H).
