Overview
This combined Bachelor of Pharmacy (Honours) and Master of Pharmacy Practice programme at the University of Sydney is designed to prepare graduates for professional practice as pharmacists with a strong scientific foundation and advanced practice capability. The bachelor component covers core pharmaceutical science, medicinal chemistry, pharmacology, pharmaceutics and pharmacy practice through multiple levels (1000-, 2000-, 3000-, 4000-level units), including an honours research component. Eligibility
- Completion of a recognised senior secondary certificate (or equivalent) with required subject prerequisites (Chemistry, Mathematics).
- Meet English language proficiency (for non-English background) and equivalent qualification criteria.
- For progression into the honours/master's component, there are academic performance thresholds (e.g., Weighted Average Mark (WAM) ≥ 65 to enter honours).
- Ability to undertake clinical placements and meet supervised practice requirements (as part of intern training) – since the master's component integrates the intern training required by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.

Admission Process:
- Complete the required secondary school qualification or equivalent and ensure you meet subject prerequisites (Chemistry, Mathematics) and English proficiency requirements.
- Submit an online application via the University of Sydney undergraduate admissions portal (or via the Universities Admissions Centre for domestic applicants) by the relevant deadline.
- The University assesses applicants based on academic record (selection rank or equivalent), prerequisite subjects and possibly additional criteria.
- If offered a place in the combined programme, accept the offer and enrol in the bachelor component.
- Complete the bachelor (honours) component over years 1-4 (or as structured), including core units and work‐integrated learning placements.
- Progress into the Master of Pharmacy Practice component in the final year(s), complete the required units and supervised professional practice (intern training/placements) to meet registration requirements.
- Upon successful completion of the programme andthe required registration exam, apply for pharmacist registration in Australia.
