Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

ESI‑PGIMSR & ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Joka, Kolkata is a government medical institution under the Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (Ministry of Labour & Employment, Government of India), established in 2013. It is affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences and recognized by the National Medical Commission. The MBBS program is a full‑time, rigorous medical course that integrates classroom learning, laboratory work, and extensive clinical exposure at the attached ESIC Hospital, Joka. Throughout the 4.5 years of academic study, students rotate through major clinical disciplines including Medicine, Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Orthopedics, and others. After the academic period, students complete a mandatory 1‑year rotating internship in various medical departments to gain hands‑on experience in patient care and clinical procedures. The curriculum emphasizes ethics, evidence‑based practice, patient safety, and community health, preparing graduates to become competent medical professionals eligible for medical registration and practice.

1. NEET‑UG qualification and valid score for the admission year.
2. Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year.
3. 10+2 with PCB + English from a recognized board.
4. Satisfy state/All India/Insured Person quota eligibility as per counselling norms.
