Overview

Nagaland Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (NIMSR), Kohima, is the first and only government medical college of Nagaland, established to strengthen medical education and healthcare delivery in the state. The institute plays a crucial role in addressing the shortage of qualified medical professionals in the North-Eastern region. NIMSR is attached to a teaching hospital that provides students with early and continuous clinical exposure. The MBBS curriculum follows the latest Competency Based Medical Education (CBME) framework prescribed by the National Medical Commission. Emphasis is placed on community-oriented healthcare, preventive medicine, ethical practice, and hands-on clinical training. With government support, modern academic infrastructure, and growing clinical facilities, NIMSR aims to produce competent, socially responsible, and skilled medical graduates capable of serving both urban and rural populations effectively.

Eligibility

1. Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English
2. Minimum aggregate marks in PCB:
3. 50% for General category
4. 40% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD (as per NMC norms)
5. Must have qualified NEET-UG in the admission year
6. Minimum age: 17 years on or before 31st December of the admission year
7. Must fulfill NMC and Nagaland State admission regulations
