Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS)

Overview

The MBBS program under the University of Delhi provides foundational and advanced education in medical sciences, aiming to produce competent doctors capable of independent clinical judgment. The curriculum includes in-depth study of anatomy, physiology, biochemistry, pharmacology, pathology, microbiology, forensic medicine, and clinical subjects such as general medicine, surgery, pediatrics, obstetrics & gynecology, psychiatry, orthopedics, dermatology, and more. Students are also trained in ethics, communication, and public health. The final phase of training includes a mandatory one-year rotating internship in hospitals and community settings. The course is delivered through top DU-affiliated medical colleges like Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Lady Hardinge Medical College (LHMC), and University College of Medical Sciences (UCMS), ensuring access to advanced facilities, research exposure, and mentorship from experienced faculty.

Eligibility

Must have completed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English

Minimum 50% aggregate marks (40% for SC/ST/OBC)

Must have qualified NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test)

Age: Minimum 17 years as of 31st December of the year of admission
