    • Late Baliram Kashyap Memorial Government Medical College (GMC Jagdalpur), established in 2006, is a government medical college in Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. It was set up with the aim of improving health care access in the tribal Bastar region. The MBBS course follows the standard Indian medical curriculum approved by the NMC, integrated with a 500-bed teaching hospital located in the college campus which offers clinical exposure across multiple specialties. The college offers modern laboratories, departments such as Pathology, Biochemistry, Community Medicine, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Anaesthesiology etc. Hostel accommodations and necessary facilities are available on campus. The college admits 125 students annually into its MBBS program. The course includes both theoretical instruction and practical/clinical training, finishing with a compulsory rotating internship.

Eligibility

    • Candidate must be at least 17 years old by December 31 of the admission year.
    • Candidate must have passed 10+2 (or equivalent) exam with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English. 
    • Minimum marks in PCB:
    • Unreserved category: 50%
    • Reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC): 40%
    • Must clear NEET-UG (National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Undergraduate)

Admission Process:

    1. Appear for NEET-UG at national level. 
    2. Obtain NEET result and qualifying percentile.
    3. For the All India Quota (15% seats): candidates are called for counseling through the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) based on NEET rank. 
    4. For the State Quota (82% seats): Counseling is conducted by the Directorate of Medical Education, Chhattisgarh. 
    5. There is a small portion of seats (3%) reserved for “Central Government nominee.”
    6. After seat allocation, students must complete document verification, pay required fees, and fulfill any bond/service obligations if applicable.
