Overview

  • BACHELOR'S COURSE IN HOMOEOPAHTIC MEDICINE AND SURGERY (B.H.M.S.). This course is a full time course of five and a half year duration which includes a compulsory internship of one year duration. The medium of instruction is English. The college is affiliated with the Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University, Patan (Gujarat) for its B.H.M.S. Course. The course is divided into four and a half years. At the end of each year the University conducts annual examination. The exams include theory papers and oral & practical examinations. The minimum score for passing in each exam is 50%. Students who pass in all the subjects move to the next year. In addition to the university exams, the college conducts periodic terminal and preliminary exams to evaluate the students' abilities. The results of such exams are also conveyed to the parents of the concerned student. The first year is of one and a half year. The subjects of study are, Human Anatomy, Physiology with Biochemistry, Homoeopathic Pharmacy, Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic MateriaMedica. At the end of 18 months the university conducts Theory as well as Practical and Oral examinations. The second year consists of one year duration. The subjects of study are Pathology and Microbiology, Forensic Medicine and Toxicology, Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic MateriaMedica. The third year is again of one year duration. The subjects include Surgery and Homoeopathic Therapeutics, Obstetrics - Gynaecology and Homoeopathic Therapeutics, Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic MateriaMedica. The final year of study is of one year duration which includes Practice of Medicine and Homoeopathic Therapeutics, Preventive and Social Medicine, Homoeopathic Repertory and Case Taking, Homoeopathic Philosophy and Organon of Medicine & Homoeopathic MateriaMedica. The last three years of study also include clinical training in various subjects. For this, the college provides hospital training at the Baroda Homoeopathic Medical College &Hospital in the campus. Various prominent nursing homes are also attached with the college for the clinical training purpose. The students passing in the final year examination are supposed to undergo one year compulsory internship at the Baroda Homoeopathic Medical College &Hospital and other centers. This internship exposes the internee to various clinical conditions and prepare them for the tough job of medical profession. This one year duration also provides them the much needed exposure and experience in the field of practical Homoeopathy.

Eligibility

  • No candidate shall be admitted to the B.H.M.S (Degree) Course unless He/She has Passed the Intermediate Science or its equivalent examination with Physics,Chemistry and Biology as his/her subjects; Attained the age 17 years on or before 31 st December of the year of his Admission to the first year of the Course. Blind ( including colour blind) , deaf and/or dumb candidates shall not be allowed for admission in the course.

Admission Process:

  • The process of Admission to BHMS Course starts after declaration of results of 12th (HSC) Science and NEET. The minimum requirement for admission includes passing marks in Physics, Chemistry. Biology with English and with compulsory NEET percentile score in open category, 119 marks (50 percentile) and 96 marks (40 percentile) for OBC/ST/SC category. Every year the admissions are done by State Govt. through Centralized Admission committee.
