Overview

The BAMS is the one and the only course in India to become an ayurvedic practitioner. The BAMS course covers investigation of current life structures, physiology, social and preventive pharmaceuticals, toxicology, herbal science, ENT, etc. BAMS is the course with practical training which is five years long. The students interact with the patient and get the practical knowledge of diseases as the college and the hospital are generally nearby to each other or may resides in the same facilities with different areas specified. BAMS course also contains a yearlong i.e. 12-month-long internship, in which an intern has to come across various specialties. Besides standard clinical care, one also gets a methodical experience of ward management, staff management, and thorough analysis skills.

Eligibility

  • Must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognized board.
  • Must secure at least 33% marks separately in English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (Botany & Zoology) in both theory and practical examinations.
  • Must obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English.
  • Must have passed Sanskrit as an elective subject carrying at least 100 marks.
  • Candidates with Uttarmadhyam from Sampurnanand Sanskrit Vishwavidyalaya, Varanasi, with Science (Biology Group) and English, are also eligible.
  • Candidates who passed 10+2 through the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) are eligible if they meet all the prescribed criteria.
  • Candidates admitted without Sanskrit in Class 12 must pass the Sanskrit paper during the First Professional BAMS course.
  • Diploma in Pharmacy and Dresser’s Course are not considered equivalent to 10+2 for admission to the BAMS program.

Admission Process:

  1. Qualify the NEET-UG entrance examination conducted by the designated Government agency.
  2. Participate in the Centralized AYUSH Counselling based on your NEET-UG rank.
  3. Fill in your preferred college choices during the counselling process.
  4. Seats are allotted according to NEET rank, reservation policy, and seat availability.
  5. Report to the allotted institute for document verification and fee payment.
  6. Complete the admission formalities to confirm your seat.
