P.U. Sc. (presently HSSLC Science) passed candidates were eligible for admission into the BAMS course which was introduced in the year 1977. In the year 1983, the pre-Ayurvedic course was abolished and HSSLC Science students were admitted directly on the basis of merit having minimum 50% marks in P, C, B&E(Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English). Now the candidates have to appear in a Common Entrance Examination test (CEE, Assam), and according to on the basis of merit, the students get admission in the B.A.M.S. course. At the time of starting the degree course.
