Overview

    1. The Bachelor of Applied Science (Physiotherapy) at the University of Sydney is a comprehensive four-year full-time programme designed to prepare graduates to practise as physiotherapists. The curriculum covers foundational biomedical sciences (anatomy, physiology, neuroscience), human movement, exercise science, professional practice, musculoskeletal, neurological, respiratory and cardiac physiotherapy, paediatric physiotherapy and preventative health care.
    2. A strong feature of the degree is the early and embedded clinical placement experience — including an initial one-week placement in Year 1, followed by five five-week block placements in Years 2-4.
    3. Graduates meet the competencies required for registration as physiotherapists in Australia, and have career pathways across public hospitals, private clinics, community health, sports and rehabilitation settings. The honours option allows high-achieving students to engage in research and advanced practice.
    4. Because of the highly selective nature of the entry, the programme aims to admit students with strong academic backgrounds as well as demonstrated potential for professional practice.
